The design process at MCL Motorhomes is very flexible with regards to customer involvement. If you want to be as involved as possible then that's great, if you want to sit back and let us design every aspect of the vehicle then we have more than enough knowledge and experience to do that. The choice is yours.
Initial contact
Once the initial contact is made with the
customer, we ask for a design brief from them. This is often in the form of
a "wish-list", in verbal communication or from sketches supplied by
the customer.
Sketching
The designer then collates the wishes of the customer and creates initial 2-Dimensional floor plans with a variety of interpretations of the customers ideas for them to peruse.

Discussion
Generally, this is the point where our
design team liaises with the customer to hone the design to exactly what they
had envisaged as their ideal vehicle. This discussion is conducted by email,
telephone and factory visits as appropriate.
3D Modeling
Our designer now has a real in depth understanding of the customers requirements and can start to create the interactive 3D CAD model of the vehicle. This now enables the customer to have a virtual walk through of their vehicle before any materials have been worked. This in depth virtual world analysis of the vehicle enables us to identify any issues that aren't apparent in a 2D plan and address them prior to build.

Visualisation
The customer can now have materials and different wood finishes applied to the model to give a near photo-realistic image of the inside of the vehicle. Again this is just an aid to help the customer visualise how their choices of upholstery etc. will look in the vehicle.

Start of Manufacture
Once every aspect of the vehicle has been decided, then the manufacture will start. The vehicle will be manufactured using technical drawings produced directly from the 3D model, so the end result is exactly the same as the virtual model design agreed upon. From this point the customer is given a private section of the website where they can view pictures of their build as it progresses. Take a look at the construction page to see what happens next.
